# Connect Instagram

> Step-by-step guide to link your Instagram account to the Mindo platform through Facebook.

Connecting your Instagram account to Mindo allows you to manage Instagram direct messages from the platform, centralizing customer support in one place.

## Step by step

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to channel settings">
    From MINDO, navigate to **Settings** and then go to the **Channels** section.

  <Step title="Start the connection">
    Inside Channels, find the **Instagram** option and click **Connect Instagram**.

    Select **Connect with Facebook**. This will automatically redirect you to the Meta/Facebook account you have connected.

  <Step title="Authenticate with Meta/Facebook">
    1. Click **Continue** (you will appear as the portfolio owner) to connect with Instagram.
    2. Press **Get Started** and select the account you want to link.
    3. Enter your **Instagram password**.

    <Note>
      Make sure to use the Facebook account linked to your business that has access to the pages and Instagram accounts you want to connect.

  <Step title="Configure permissions and pages">
    1. Once you've entered your password, the system will display a screen where you need to choose your **business portfolio**.
    2. Select the **Facebook pages** and **Instagram accounts** that are connected to each other and that you want to grant access to.
    3. Click **Continue**, then **Save**, and finally confirm with **OK** to complete the connection to the platform.

    <Warning>
      The Instagram accounts you select must be linked to a Facebook page. If your Instagram account doesn't appear, verify that it's properly connected to a page from Instagram settings or Meta Business Suite.

  <Step title="Verify the connection">
    To confirm the process was successful, go back to **Settings** → **Channels**.

    You will see that the Instagram account is now **active**.
