# Add a credit card

> How to register a payment method in your WhatsApp Business account

If you're using the WhatsApp Business platform for your business, it's important to add a credit card so everything runs without interruptions.

## Why do it?

Your account uses a conversation-based pricing model, so by registering a credit card you ensure that:

* Your business can continue sending messages without stopping due to lack of a payment method.
* Everything is automated and hassle-free.
* You have a smoother experience for you and your customers.

## Steps to add the card

  <Step title="Go to Meta Business Suite">
    Open your browser and go to [business.facebook.com](https://business.facebook.com). Log in with the Facebook or Meta account that has access to your business.

  <Step title="Navigate to WhatsApp accounts">
    Once inside Meta Business Suite, click on **Settings** (gear icon in the side menu) and then select **WhatsApp Accounts** in the left panel.

  <Step title="Select your WhatsApp account">
    You'll see the list of WhatsApp accounts associated with your business. Find the account you want to configure, click the **three-dot** icon (⋯) on the right and select **Manage account settings**.

  <Step title="Add a payment method">
    In the payments section, click on **Add payment method**.

  <Step title="Enter your card details">
    Fill in the following fields:

    * Name on the card
    * Card number
    * Expiration date
    * Security code (CVV)
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify the card">
    After saving, you may be asked to verify the card (for example with a code sent to your phone or email).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirmation">
    Once the card is approved, it will be active to receive charges corresponding to platform usage.

## What to keep in mind

  Make sure the card is enabled for **international or online payments**, as the platform may require it.

* In some countries only certain card brands may be accepted (for example Visa or Mastercard).
* Keep your billing information correctly updated to avoid interruptions.
